Welcome to the Fallen Officer Memorial 9C1 Project Official Web Site! This site has been established as an informative resource for the Fallen Officer Memorial 9C1, a special tribute police car dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of all law enforcement officers who have been lost in the line of duty. The memorial car, a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1, is back in service to remember all those who have given everything in the service of their fellow man. The Fallen Officer Memorial 9C1 has served in processions at funeral and memorial services for fallen police officers, and is displayed at car shows to serve as a reminder of those who have been lost.
The Fallen Officer Memorial 9C1 Project was established by Aaron "AJ" Clapp in December, 2003, after a series of tragic events affected him, his family, and all in the law enforcement community. To read more about the inspiration for this project, please visit the Project Background page.
Although it may not look it in the feature photograph by Chino Barreto at the Indiana Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters Memorial at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, the Fallen Officer Memorial 9C1 is still a work in progress. Body and paint work was completed by Gould Body & Paint during the spring of 2007. Graphics have also been applied. New photographs of the Fallen Officer Memorial 9C1 are forthcoming.
AJ is a graduate of Vincennes University with an AAS Degree in Law Enforcement. He is a sworn police officer in the State of Indiana. He is currently employed full-time as a special deputy sheriff, and also works part-time as a reserve police officer with a municipal police department. He has driven a variety of squad cars in his career thus far, including the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, the police package Dodge Intrepid, and the HEMI-powered police package Dodge Charger. Despite the several other squads he's driven, the Caprice 9C1 will always remain his favorite.
